TurboTax ordered to pay out $141 million to four million taxpayers

TurboTax’s parent company Intuit has reached a settlement with all 50 states to pay out $141 million to nearly 4.4 million taxpayers who were deceived into paying to file their taxes. New York Attorney General Letitia James says Intuit will make payments between $29 to $85 to those who filed returns for tax years 2016 through 2018. James says the payments are also only eligible to those who used TurboTax’s IRS Free File Program but ended up filing in a paid program.
