Canada: Federal govt launches investigation into Kearl oilsands – May 4, 2023

Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault speaks with reporters on Parliament Hill following the announcement that the federal government has opened an investigation into Imperial Oil’s Kearl oilsands mine in northern Alberta. He is joined by Randy Boissonnault, the tourism minister and MP for Edmonton Centre. The probe follows two spills of toxic tailings water from the mine in the last year.
