Enter TFR. A group of old school, DIY punk rock dudes who are making something special in the granite state.

FOr full disclousre they are my friends however if they sucked I would tell you.

Their music is fast and straight forward with no filler and no filter and it comes in like a hammer making even the oldest, fattest hardcore bum want to get up and get moving.

They pull no punches with their lyrics, not being afraid to be upfront and in your face with their politics. and not being afraid to say fuck you if you dont like it.

The fact that they record and produce their own music is apparent in the best way possble. You come away with the feeling of understanding something about them with no interuption or static. This shit came out of their brains and into your ears with no middle man to muddy the waters.

Im probably supposed to talk about their latest album 'Born Mad' which is great. I particularly loved Violent World which makes me feel like Im forteen listening to a Blood for Blood album all over again but if your a hardcore fan I think you could pick up any of their records and enjoy them.

The More important takeaway than the music itself is the message bands like TFR sends...
Hardcore by its very nature is primal
At the end of the day its a reminder that creativity is not just a luxury, but a fundamental part of who we are as human beings.
It reminds us that at our very core there is a piece of us that just wants to yell into the world whether there is someone there to hear us or not.
It's like that old saying goes, "Dance like nobody's watching, sing like nobody's listening, and scream like you just stubbed your toe on the coffee table."
