Canada: NDP MP calls for changes to publication ban rules on sexual assault cases – May 3, 2023

At a news conference on Parliament Hill, NDP MP Laurel Collins calls on the federal government to ensure sexual assault survivors have agency to tell their own stories. She is joined by Kelly Favro and Jade Neilson of My Voice, My Choice, an advocacy group on this issue. The federal government has tabled legislation intended to give survivors the opportunity to opt out of publication bans around their assault.
