Pentagon holds briefing as U.S. prepares to deploy troops to southern border

Pat Ryder held a briefing Tuesday as the U.S. prepares to send 1,500 active-duty troops to the southern border amid an increase in migrant crossings, according to U.S. officials. The move comes as Customs and Border Protection officials prepare for a sharp increase in crossings once they can no longer expel migrants under Title 42, which is set to end on May 11.
