This is a short interview with a combat sniper of the Third Separate Assault Brigade. She is 21 years old, her call sign is Helga, and she is a scout marksman of the 1st mechanized battalion.

The lady comes from the Mykolayiv region. Since childhood, she was involved in sports and graduated from college with a specialty in folk choreography. She used to teach people, worked with children and adult groups. During the war, she realized that she was no longer interested in creative life, and set a course for military.

Helga passed the KMB (boot camp) and entered the service in June last summer. Talking about the selection, she notes that the main thing is your spirit, and your ability to not give up.

“As soon as I saw on social networks that recruitment for the KMB was organized, I contacted them and they explained everything to me. They said: "If you can endure, welcome." I made my decision right away. There are no separate standards for women and men. It was hard for everyone. It's not even about how well you do this or that exercise. You may be doing it even sloppily and crookedly.
The main thing is that you keep doing it. The spirit was tested more. Nobody was prejudiced in any way.” – the servicewoman explains.
Today, she carries out combat missions as a sniper in the Bakhmut direction. She also conducts surveillance on the enemy and adjusts artillery.
