Emboldened by inaction of Bolsonaro and the armed forces, large-scale persecution ordered by Moraes begins

The millions of Brazilians who blindly trusted Jair Bolsonaro may face a harsh reality and bitterly regret their support sooner rather than later.

After 45 days of continuous demonstrations against the alleged electoral fraud and in favor of military intervention, during which Bolsonaro and the military did absolutely nothing (in contrast to the Peruvian military), the out-of-control judiciary, strengthened by the inaction of the opponents, is now making an all-out attack.

The Federal Police meets on the morning of Thursday (15) more than 80 arrest warrants, search and seizure against supporters of President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) for blocking highways after the election of Lula (PT).

The operation was authorized by the minister of the Supreme Court (STF), Alexandre de Moraes.

In addition to the warrants, the following were also authorized:

blocking the accounts of the investigated;
Breach of bank secrecy of the investigated.

The search warrants are served in seven states (Acre, Amazonas, Espírito Santo, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Paraná, Santa Catarina) and the Federal District.

The Peruvian left unleashes a wave of violence

By Rodrigo Saldarriaga

The Peruvian left, its pride beaten after the dismissal of coup leader Pedro Castillo, who failed in his attempt to unconstitutionally close Congress after not receiving the support of the Armed Forces and Police, has unleashed a wave of violence in the South American country, particularly in the southern Andean regions, where Castillo had the most votes during the 2021 general elections.

On Tuesday, the protests intensified in cities such as Arequipa and Abancay, where vandals attacked public institutions with stones and firebombs -such as police stations and offices of the Public Ministry and the Judiciary- and private property, looting commercial galleries.

The anger of the left also targeted companies in the food industry, such as the Danper agro-industrial company, whose plant located in El Pedral was attacked.

“The mob of criminals set fire to some offices and a material warehouse at this plant, a situation that has been controlled by our emergency brigade thanks to the fire-fighting system that we have implemented,” the company reported in a statement.

“Our priority has been to safeguard the life, safety and integrity of our workers, which is why we have suspended work in our operations since yesterday,” said the agro-industrial company.

Another affected company was the Laive dairy, whose collection plant located -also in El Pedregal- was looted by about 100 people and then set on fire. The attackers entered the premises and stole computers and other equipment, before setting fire to part of the company’s infrastructure. However, workers and security personnel were not harmed after taking cover.
