Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) says the Department of Transportation is lagging on instituting a rule that would require car manufacturers to include sensors in the backseats to prevent children from being left to harm in hot cars. Sen. Blumenthal says he is going to coordinate with Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg to implement this legislation before the November 2023 statutory deadline.
