Jurisdiction: Walk in the Spirit
Luke 20:20 So they watched Him, and sent spies who pretended to be righteous, that they might seize on His words, in
order to deliver Him to the power and the authority of the governor.
Jurisdiction: declaring the law in order to administer justice (righteousness). What we say, do and worship determines
our personal jurisdiction. God’s jurisdiction is the Kingdom of God which is inside of us. We are called to manifest the
Kingdom of God in our sphere of influence by walking in the Spirit. We step into the enemy’s jurisdiction by walking in
the flesh. We do not lose our salvation by walking in the flesh, but we give authority to the enemy to pound on us.
Babylon is under the jurisdiction of Satan. Babylon is falling and we are calling people into God’s jurisdiction; the
Kingdom of God under the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Authority: Strong’s # 1849 Greek exousia (ex-oo-see’-ah) The right to use force to establish jurisdiction.
Gal 5:16-26 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the
Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you
wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
Remember: what we say, do and worship determines our jurisdiction.
19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery,
hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders,
drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who
practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Practice: “Strong’s #4238; prasso (pras-so), to perform repeatedly or habitually (thus differing from a single act). To
execute and accomplish. To commit, deeds, do, keep, or require.” When someone practices “works of the flesh,” they
are working to accomplish sin. It is about the intent of the heart; hating sin, or enjoying sin.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control.
Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we
live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one
another.
Sons and Daughters of God are Led by the Spirit
Rom 8:12-17 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors — not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13 For if you live
according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14 For as many
as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but
you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father." 16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our
spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs — heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we
suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
1 Thess 4:3-8 For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; 4 that each
of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, 5 not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles
who do not know God; 6 that no one should take advantage of and defraud his brother in this matter, because the Lord is
the avenger of all such, as we also forewarned you and testified. 7 For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness.
8 Therefore he who rejects this does not reject man, but God, who has also given us His Holy Spirit.
Sanctified Strong’s #37, hagiazo (hag-ee-ad'-zo) to make holy, i.e. (ceremonially) purify or consecrate; (mentally) to
venerate, to separate or set apart. Hagiazo is the opposite of “unclean.” In the NT the word describes a manifestation of
life produced by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. SFLB Word Wealth
Matt 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.
1 Tim 1:5-7 Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from sincere
faith, 6 from which some, having strayed, have turned aside to idle talk, 7 desiring to be teachers of the law,
understanding neither what they say nor the things which they affirm.
2 Tim 2:22-24 Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of
a pure heart. 23 But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife.
1 Peter 1:22-25 Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren,
love one another fervently with a pure heart, 23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible,
through the word of God which lives and abides forever, 24 because "All flesh is as grass, And all the glory of man as the
flower of the grass. The grass withers, And its flower falls away, 25 But the word of the Lord endures forever."
James 4:7-8 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God and He will draw
near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
Taking Hold of the Holy Spirit
In order to “walk in the Spirit” we must first receive or “lambano” the Holy Spirit. When we are saved, our spirit is 100%
filled with the Holy Spirit, but we must receive the revelation of what that means.
Received; Strong’s #2983 lambano (lam-ban'-o); to get hold of; obtain, take, attain, accept.
Acts 8:14-17 Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent
Peter and John to them, 15 who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. 16
For as yet He had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 17 Then they laid
hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
Acts 19:1-7 And it happened, while Apollos was at Corinth, that Paul, having passed through the upper regions, came to
Ephesus. And finding some disciples 2 he said to them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" So they said
to him, "We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit." 3 And he said to them, "Into what then were you
baptized?" So they said, "Into John's baptism." 4 Then Paul said, "John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance,
saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus." 5 When they
heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit
came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.
Heb 10:19-25 Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way
which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and having a High Priest over the house of God, 22 let
us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our
bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is
faithful. 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of
ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day
approaching.
The garbage, filth and sin of this world pollutes our hearts through radio, television, books, social media, school, work,
music, and how we interact with others. Gathering together as a church family allows us to stop and “come out” of the
things of this world and into fellowship with Jesus and one another. As we sing praises, do communion, and bring our
offering, the preaching of the Word of God will purify our heart. Coming to the altar of God, through the cross and
blood of Jesus, is a step of faith symbolically entering into the holy of holies and releases the strongest anointing of
the service into your heart. Through obedience, the altar is a place of victory and “sealing” the Word in our heart.
