May 2023 is going to be an exciting month for stargazers. On 5th May, a penumbral lunar eclipse will occur, allowing us to see the Earth's shadow covering a part of the Moon, visible in Asia, Australia, Eastern Europe, and some parts of Eastern Africa. The following day, the Eta Aquarid meteor shower will peak before sunrise in the Southern Hemisphere, in the Aquarius constellation. On 19th May, there will be a new moon, providing a great opportunity for stargazers to capture galaxies and nebulae. Finally, on 29th May, Mercury will reach its greatest eastern elongation, making it the highest point in its orbit around the Sun. Don't miss out on these amazing celestial events!
