The Remnant - Part 4
The lesson on April 30, 2023 was part 4 of “The Remnant” study. Wayne expressed that we need to make all the connections that fall within this study. In this lesson, Wayne continues to expand on what we learned in the previous lessons in that God has chosen a remnant that are faithful to God’s purposes that it will be brought about to completion. There are individual and corporate elections. In the Acts period there was a body of Christ and everyone was equal for salvation but the Gentile was subservient to the Jew. Only after Acts do you find the ministry of “the both” and the body of Christ is now different because Christ is the head, and we are the body. There are many places in the New Testament where the word “body” appears, and the most was in 1 Corinthians (see the complete concordance of it in the handout). Ever wonder why there is a different way to express the sacrifice of Christ that is the Blood of Christ and the Body of Christ? Why separate them out? We find out why because something was put in place because of the law. In 1 Cor. 10:16 it speaks of the “communion of the body of Christ”. The word communion is the same as fellowship. When you read in Ephesians 3:9 you could interchange the fellowship to communion of the Mystery. In the Mystery, we are to have fellowship in the Body of Christ were Christ is the head and our calling and blessing is in the heavenly places were we are a showcase to principalities and powers, the manifold wisdom of God.
The scripture reading was from Hebrews 13:7-17 KJV “7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation. 8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. 9 Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein. 10 We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle. 11 For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp. 12 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate. 13 Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach. 14 For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come. 15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. 16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. 17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.”
