Racing an 80 Year Old Steam Boat Across Scotland | Caledonian Canal

In this episode we race The VIC 32, the last Clyde puffer, across Scotland through the Caledonian Canal from Fort William to Inverness.

In our 40 ft Caley Cruisers we take on this steamer along 60 miles of Lochs and canal.

Helping us inthe race is our Inflatable Boat, the Mary Joanne 420.

On day one we leave Fort William for Moy Swing bridge and make it to Loch Lochy where the steamer catches up to us. We go head to head with the ship across Loch Lochy in attempt to stay ahead of it at Laggan Locks. Once across the lock and through Laggan Locks we cruise through Laggan Avenue. Onto Loch Oich we moor up at Invergary Castle for the night where we explore the sunked ship, the Great Glen then swim and have a meal at Invergary Hotel.

In the next stretch we are neck and neck across Loch Oich, though the canal and locks then we finally pulled ahead at Fort Augustus Locks.

With Fort Augustus Locks completed we just have Loch Ness to complete on the final day but the mist stops us from seeing the VIC 32 so we power on in hopes we beat it.

The winner of the final stretch takes the trophy home, can we beat this 120hp monster?
