Brittney Griner and wife Cherelle Griner attended the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner months after her release from a Russian prison.

The Phoenix Mercury star and her wife accompanied CBS News to the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner in Washington, D.C., on Saturday. The Griners were seated with "CBS Mornings" co-host Gayle King, "CBS Evening News" anchor Norah O’Donnell and "Face the Nation" moderator Margaret Brennan.

The Biden administration worked to free Griner from a Russian penal colony on Dec. 8 by way of a prisoner exchange with Russia for arms dealer Viktor Bout. CBS News, who is hosted Griner in Washington, was first to report the swap.
