Iranian Navy seized an oil tanker with 24 Indian crew
members on Thursday. The oil tanker was heading to
the US city of Houston when it was seized by the
Iranian Navy in the Gulf of Oman. The US Navy's
Mideast-based 5th Fleet identified the vessel as the
Advantage Sweet. The US called the seizure ‘illegal’
and demanded immediate release of the vessel.
Meanwhile, Iranian state media said that the oil tanker
collided with an Iranian vessel, prompting Iran's navy
to seize the vessel.
