Uncovering the Insane Techniques Used by the Romans to Build Monuments

They believed that the blocks were probably cut and shaped using the same techniques that the masonry used in the Pont d'Agart. In fact, there's some crazy archaeological evidence all over that shows how the Romans used to extract these massive chunks of rock for their buildings. One of their go-to methods was to use chalk lines and wedges. Then they'd make holes along the lines and stick these wedges in there with a chisel and mallet. And just like those guys who made those Easter Island statues, they would also make little pinpricks along the line to help the rock break along those marked lines. Archaeological evidence suggests that the stones were carved and then placed on rollers for transportation.
