🇷🇺 🇹🇷 Statements by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Ceremony of fuel delivery to the Akkuyu NPP

🔻 Vladimir Putin's statements:

Russia and Turkey intend to deepen economic and trade ties, which is confirmed by the launch of a gas hub on Turkish territory, which will allow the growth of trade turnover between the two countries to continue.

An important step for Turkey in the development of nuclear energy was the registration of the Akkuyu NPP as a nuclear facility.

Russia and Turkey also adhere to the position of expanding air traffic between the two countries.

During the telephone conversation that took place earlier, important agreements were reached, including on increasing trade turnover.

The construction of the Akkuyu NPP takes place in close cooperation between Russia and the IAEA, which guarantees the safety of the facility.

▪️ Russia will continue to supply gas to Turkey.

Russia will also provide assistance to Turkey to eliminate the consequences of the earthquake by supplying a large batch of building materials.

In 2022, the trade turnover between Russia and Turkey amounted to $ 62 billion, and there are plans to further increase the volume of joint trade.

The construction of four power units with a total capacity of 4800 megawatts continues, more than 30 thousand people are involved in the implementation of this goal.

🔻 Statements by Tayyip Erdogan:

Erdogan offered to send flour from Russian grain to countries in need free of charge.

▪️ Turkey joins the club of countries with nuclear energy, albeit with a delay of 60 years.

The powerful earthquake that occurred on February 6 did not affect the operation of the Akkuyu NPP, which confirmed the correctness of our calculations. We take into account all the recommendations of the IAEA and the EU on the construction of nuclear power plants.

By 2028, all units of the Akkuyu NPP will be put into operation.

On behalf of the people of Turkey, Erdogan expressed gratitude to Russia and personally to Vladimir Putin for the construction of the Akkuyu NPP.

The construction of the Akkuyu NPP is the largest joint project of Turkey and Russia.
