Welcome to the 6th Episode of the Back to Human podcast.

On today's show we have special guest Dr. Thomas Seagar. Dr. Seagar is an associate professor in the school of Sustainable Engineering & the Built Environment at Arizona State University. His teaching and research is focused on a new approach to personal development called Self-Actual Engineering which is about redesigning ourselves, our relationships and our lives to realize more of our fullest potential.
Dr. Seagar is also the Chief Science Officer of Morozko Forge, a company that builds ice baths that can maintain freezing temperatures. It also has its own filtration system and ozone as a disinfectant so you can enjoy doing cold plunges as much as you want without having to go to the gas station to buy loads of ice.

Some of the topics we discuss in this episode include:

•How Tom got introduced to cold exposure and the beginning of Morozko Forge.
•Can cold exposure followed by exercise increase your testosterone?
•How cold exposure can help you increase your stores of brown adipose tissue (brown fat). •Is cold exposure safe for pregnant women?
•What effect does cold exposure have on cancer?
•Is mitochondrial health the key to aging?
•Self-Actual engineering; becoming a better version of yourself so you can live a more meaningful life.
•Our compulsion to repeat behaviors and overcoming inherited epigenetic trauma.
