Canada: Federal government announces renewed funding for global women's rights – April 27, 2023

At a news conference on Parliament Hill, International Development Minister Harjit Sajjan announces renewed funding of $195 million over five years and $43.3 million annually thereafter to support Canada’s Women’s Voice and Leadership Program. The federal government created the program in 2017 to help advance gender equality in developing countries. He is joined by his parliamentary secretary Anita Vandenbeld and Arielle Kayabaga, the Liberal MP for London West.
