Today, a new exchange of prisoners took place in the border area. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that 40 servicemen were returning home and would be transported to Moscow by military transport planes for medical treatment and rehabilitation in medical institutions.

The Ukrainian side was handed over 44 people: 36 privates and sergeants, six officers, and two civilians captured last year in battles near Mariupol and on the Kherson front.

Ten days ago, the head of the Ukrainian president's office, Andriy Yermak, also announced the return of 130 captive privates and sergeants, but no one officially commented on that exchange from the Russian side.
