Rodas: “El patrocinador puede mostrar una ‘Orden de deportación’ a un niño [migrante] y decir: ‘Esta es tu Orden de deportación. Si no haces lo que digo, cuando yo diga, voy a llamar a ICE yo mismo’. Estamos pagando para poner niños en manos de delincuentes”.
Rodas: “Dije [a los ejecutivos del centro de comando], ‘Nos estamos preparando para enviar a otro niño [a Austin, Texas]’, y ellos dijeron, ‘Tara, creo que debes entender que solo nos demandan judicialmente si mantenemos a los niños bajo cuidado demasiado tiempo. Los traficantes no nos demandan. ¿Te quedó claro? Los traficantes no nos demandan. Así que, esa fue la respuesta del gobierno federal de los Estados Unidos… HHS no quería que esta información saliera a la luz”.
Rodas: “Sabían que yo había hecho divulgaciones protegidas y tomaron represalias contra mí como denunciante y me expulsaron del sitio para que ya no pudiera investigar los casos”.

Rodas: “The sponsor can show a 'Deportation Order’ to a [migrant] child and say‘ 'This is your Deportation Order. If you don't do what I say, when I say, I'm going to call ICE myself.’ We are paying to put children in the hands of criminals."
Rodas: "I said [to the command center executives], ‘We're getting ready to send another child [to Austin, Texas],’ and they said, ‘Tara, I think you have to understand that we're only sued if we keep children in care too long. The traffickers are not suing us. Did it become clear to you? The traffickers are not suing us. So, that was the response of the U.S. federal government... HHS did not want this information to come out."
Rodas: “They knew that I had made protected disclosures and they retaliated against me as a whistleblower and banned me from the site so that I could no longer investigate the cases.”
Migrant girl: "An aunt [sponsored me], but she kicked me out of her house. She was offering me and I didn't like that. I offered myself to men."
Migrant girl: "I just ran away one night. I said to her [aunt], ‘I'm going to the laundry’' She [aunt] went to the laundry and didn't find me there. Later, he called Immigration."
