Why Everyone Hates LeBron James & The NBA

LeBron James has convinced the world he's 'more than an athlete' and positioned himself as a human rights activist, speaking out against racism and injustices.

LeBron James: I would never shut up about things that are wrong.

But now, people like Enes Kanter are calling him out.

Enes Kanter: All the stuff that is happening in America- you're going to call yourself a freedom fighter- you're going to call yourself a 'more than an athlete', human rights activist. But when the things you talk about affect your money and business, you're going to shut up about it.

And this leaves us all wondering: how will this affect LeBron's legacy?

I'm just kidding.

However, after doing a little digging, the truth is that LeBron is not the perfect role model the media portrays. Now, I'm all for social justice and creating change, but the problem with LeBron is he practices selective outrage. He'll carefully pick and choose which issues to speak out on as long as it paints him in a positive light. However, he decides to stay silent when finances are involved because he values money over morals. So I'm going to present you with the facts and let you decide: is LeBron a brave social justice hero like the mainstream media portrays him to be, or a hypocrite pretending to care about social issues to boost his popularity? My intention is not to try and "cancel" LeBron but to open a discussion that I believe is worth having in order to discern who our true heroes are.
