Pelosi's campaign had sent 21 text messages to the resident, who was already on the Do Not Call Registry. Pelosi paid $7,500 in settlement to the plaintiff. Furthermore, Pelosi revealed her ignorance of fundamental American legal principles in a tweet about Donald Trump's indictment. She suggested that Trump had the right to "prove his innocence," which is not how the American legal system works. Pelosi's disregard for federal law and her apparent lack of understanding of American legal principles should concern all Americans.
