I think I found the Tower of Babel in Google Earth...

BTW, this is a serious archaeological inquiry. I have a degree in anthropology and studied GIS and archaeology extensively. I know these are ancient structures and they predate the eruption is this tiny volcano for which we have no known date of a previous eruption.

It fits the very specific description of the size, location, and destruction of the tower of babel.

In the talmud, the “derekh yom” (Hebrew for “day’s journey’) was a unit of distance, equal to 80,000 cubits, or, 46.176 kilometres.

Josephus says the tower of Babel took 3 days to walk around once. If Josephus says this, it's because he had access to the book of Jasher in his days.

Location: East in the land of Shinar (Genesis 11:1–9)

And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the EAST, that they found a PLAIN in the land of SHINAR

Deutoronomy 3:8

And we took at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites the land that was on this side Jordan, from the river of Arnon unto mount Hermon; 9(which Hermon the Sidonians call Sirion; AND THE AMORITES CALL IT SHENIR)

SHENIR = SHINAR

East of the land of the Ammorites is a plain and in that plain there is ONLY one feature that stands out with a circumference matching that of the tower of Babel within sight of Mt Hermon. A volcanic spot.

The Apocryphal book of Jasher, which has not been confirmed to this day whether or not to be from God, describes the destruction of the tower of Babel in saying God sent arrows of fire from the heavens...They built the tower on a volcano and it errupted. Yes, God did it, but they do'nt know the difference between arrows and volcanic rock.

And as to the tower which the sons of men built, the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up one third part thereof, and a fire also descended from heaven and burned another third, and the other third is left to this day, and it is of that part which was aloft, and its circumference is three days' walk. - Jasher 9:38
