West River Loop: 2023 Trail Update - Loop Ride - April 2023

This is what the trail looked like in April 2023. I have ridden this loop 2 other times previously. This ride adds telemetry and a more recent look since my last ride was in 2021.

Starting at the Bartlett Nature Center @ James "Pate" Philip State Park, Bartlett, DuPage County, Illinois.
Fox River Trail to Riverbend Trail to Randall Road Trail to Great Western Trail to Peck Road Trail. It includes some unnamed trails and side streets before making its way back to the Fox River Trail in Geneva, IL. We pass by the Fabyan Windmill & Downtown St. Charles in this ride.

When I research new bike trails to ride I use the AllTrails app (love it!) for discovery and YouTube to see what the trail looks like. Many times, any questions I may have (What does the trail look like? How well taken care of is the trail? How wide is the trail? Does it look like a trail we can pull a kids trailer on? How does the new detour go? Are there many places to stop? Where does it tend to flood? How does this trail connect to that trail?) can be answered by a simple video like this. Unfortunately there are a lot of trails that I can’t find videos on or they are way out of date. Hopefully this video will help others who may want to quickly see a trail to decide if it’s a good fit for their ride style.
