While keeping in line with youtubes guidelines this video discusses the reason and history of the US militaries change from Vietnam era M16A1 triangular shaped handguards to the M16A2 round shape handguards that was adopted in 1983 by Marine Corps and the US Army in 1986. A2 handguards can also found on base model of the M16A4 which was adopted by US Army and Marine Corps in 29 July 1997, but does NOT show replacing or disassembly of any kind.
