REVERSE OFFERINGS / Pastor Bob's Coffee Break

Dear Pastor Bob: What do you think about reverse offerings? Some Churches do this at times. Instead of taking an offering, the deacons will ask anyone in the congregation if they are in need of anything such as food, gas for their car, medical bills, or any other essential need. And they will give money to the members of the Church to meet these needs. It sounds like a good idea. Is this Biblical?
