If we can see and judge ourselves there is the hope we can overcome ourselves, recognize our faults, be healed, and be the better for it. If we refuse to see or admit our sins, why would we ever try to change or be better? The hardest things we go through in life are often the result of things we did to ourselves or caused others to suffer. It is best to face the fact, repent, and deal with it rather than to continue on down the paths of destruction.
