Which is better in an AR-15 - Direct Impingement vs. Gas Piston Operation?

In this discussion video I express my personal thoughts and opinions on the two most popular type of operating systems for the AR-15: Direct impingement (DI) or Short Stroke Gas Piston. I give examples of both and what I think are the pros and cons of each as well as which one I think is the better system for the rifle.
