Dragon Hill: Iron Age ritual and the legend of Saint George

Dragon Hill, near the Iron Age hillfort of Uffington Castle and the Uffington White Horse and not far from the Neolithic long barrow called Wayland’s Smithy, is a mystical place.

As it’s St George’s Day tomorrow I thought I’d look into the legendary association of this dramatic feature with the Patron Saint of England, as well as its real history.
