Biblical Fasting: Why Islamic fasting NOT fasting?

The Bible tells us the purpose of fasting, how it is to be done, and provides examples. Yet, there is nothing as miniscule as skipping a meal called fasting in the Bible! The Quran claims that the Torah should verify it. So what does the Bible say about fasting?
