DIY Easy Surface Rust Removal

Teaching you the basics of automotive fabrication, to more advance topics to help you get the most out of your car, truck or whatever weekend project you are working on.

This video I go through removing surface rust from my neglected project. I had the body chemically stripped and coated with Gibbs Penetrant for years. But the protection didn't last. Now I have a mess to clean up. I have found an inexpensive Phosphoric Acid at Home Depot that works just fantastic.

Here I go through the steps on how I remove the surface rust, then neutralize the acid with a Baking Soda and water mix, then apply a new coat of Gibbs.

I would like to explore a few different methods of preserving the surface finish, but actually finishing the project and applying a sealer primer is the best way forward.

And, now that the floor is mostly clean, we get to making the rest of the floor, Lets GO!
