Some people were complaining the Libertarian candidate won 2% of the vote in the first election and blamed Chase Oliver for the runoff. But the reality is if you still can’t win a race outright because 81 thousand voters selected someone they know couldn’t win because they’re so frustrated with the status quo they lodged their vote in protest – that’s your fault, not the Libertarians. Georgia is a consistently red state, this should have been an easy victory for the Republicans, but they ran a bad candidate. Chase Oliver offered to sit down and talk to Warnock and Walker and if he liked either one, he would have likely endorsed them, but neither one took him up on the offer. The unnecessary losses for the Republicans will continue until morale improves. As a final thought, the biggest contributor to the growth of the Libertarian Party since the pandemic was the consistent opposition by the party against the lockdowns and mandates that were imposed by the government.
