Canada, Volkswagen to invest $14.8 bln in EV battery gigafactory

Canada and Volkswagen on Friday (April 21) together committed more than $14.8 bln (C$20 billion) for a battery gigafactory in St. Thomas, Ontario, the biggest single investment ever in the country's electric-vehicle supply chain.
