Legendary investor Rick Rule says it is important to have cash liquidity. And in the current banking environment, "You need to make sure your bank has enough liquidity that they can handle momentary panics." He suggests having precious metals as well, noting, "Gold, from my point of view, is insurance." Gold, even in liquidity squeezes, often performs well.
