More Than Meets The EYE! Uni-Dive Fully Adjustable Strap and Swappable Case [ Proxima ]

Uni-Dive / Proxima sent me something a little interesting. This watch not only has a fully adjustable Strap, but it also has a swappable case. So you can turn it from a MM to a Turtle and Back again.

*Important Update*
So as I was finishing editing this together, Uni-Dive contacted and updated me on a couple things. Which brought some clarity, as well as a few more question marks regarding the swappable case.

First off they said that anything with a MM or Turtle style case is going to built with the monobloc center module to make them swappable. So that makes it easy to know what is what.

However... they also informed me that what they sent me was Version 2 of this design, and they now have Version 3 with two major differences. Plus they aren't compatible. Why they would send me the V2 when a V3 was around the corner... I have no idea.

So the first difference is that the V3 is being made by a different factory, and is supposed to have a better fit and finish. Which I'd love to see, as I already thought the V2 was pretty good. They also changed the positioning of the screw. Which makes some things better, and some things worse.

The screws are no longer positioned in between the lugs. Now they are on top underneath the bezel insert. Which "might" prevent them from backing out on their own, but will prevent them from getting lost if they do. However... this also means that you have to remove the bezel insert if you want to swap the case.

Now removing the bezel isn't extremely difficult, but it's also not something you do for the heck of it. So it still has the capability... but in a lot of ways, this makes it seem like they did this so the watches are easier to build, rather than something you can easily do at home.

Then to make things even more confusing, they also said that right now the V3 Turtle style cases aren't ready. At least not yet. So right now if you order a MM style, you get V3. A turtle style, you get a V2. Although you can contact them if you want a V2 MM style.

So yeah... two steps forward, one step back maybe?
