Watch: Gauteng Care Crisis Committee march to oppose social assistance stipend cuts

South Africa - Johannesburg - Department of Social Development (DSD) Crisis march. 20 April 2023. Following the decision by the Department of Social Development to cut the funding of some organizations who help the disabled these organizations who face stipent cuts of up to 60% or even closure of homes that provide independent living for diferently abled persons, they marched to the department in the Joburg CBD to make their voices heard. Lisa Vitten who is the interum chairperson of the Gauteng Care Crisis Committee which was established this week following the announcement of the cut, explanes why this is a problem.
