Prime Minister Justin Trudeau speaks briefly with reporters on Parliament Hill as the federal Liberal caucus holds its weekly meeting. He is asked about the first day of a strike involving more than 150,000 federal public servants across the country. The Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) and the federal government failed to reach an agreement before a deadline of 9 p.m. ET on April 18.
