In a White House press briefing Wednesday, Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre says President Biden sees the three Tennessee representatives who faced expulsion for participating in a gun reform protest on the Senate floor as taking the “incredibly important” next steps in banning assault weapons. Jean-Pierre says President Biden is “proud” and “appreciative of their efforts and what they were trying to do in the [Tennessee] State House.” Representative Gloria Johnson, Representative Justin Pearson, and Representative Justin Jones will visit the White House on Monday.
