Canada: NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh calls for emergency debate on rise in hate crimes – April 17, 2023

On Parliament Hill, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh tells reporters his party is seeking an emergency House debate on the rise of police-reported hate crimes across Canada. The request comes following recent attacks against a mosque in Markham, Ontario, and a synagogue in Montreal. Stephen Brown, CEO of the National Council of Canadian Muslims, also gives remarks.
