Police Seize Two Tons Of Cocaine Floating Off Italian Island

Authorities in Italy say they have seized almost two tons of cocaine off the coast of Sicily, with the haul having a total street value of about €400 million ($440 million).

The drugs appear to have been hidden at sea in about 70 sealed waterproof packages, held together by fishermen's nets and equipped with a luminous signaling device.

The packages were spotted by a maritime surveillance aircraft.
