3rd in our series the Epistle of 2nd Peter

I. The Pilgrim Saints  - 2 Peter 1:1; 1 Peter 1:1
* A. The modern land of Turkey was the home of these saints
* B. They were identified as Pilgrims - Hebrews 11:13-14
* 1. One on a journey from our home land
* a. We are in a foreign land, on a journey to the kingdom of heaven
* b. We live everyday in light of eternity
* 2. The life of faith is lived with a Pilgrim mindset

II. The Greatest Blessing of Grace and Peace - 2 Peter 1:2
* A. Peter prays an abundant blessing of these two gifts would fill their life to overflowing
* B. Grace is receiving in Jesus Christ what we do not deserve
* 1. It is the free unmerited love and favor of God
* 2. It was unmistakably demonstrated and fulfilled at the cross 
* C. Peace - cessation of warfare
* 1. We were enemies of God before we came to faith in Christ - Romans 5:8-10, 1
* 2. There is no peace for the wicked only internal turmoil
* a. They fight against themselves - 2 Timothy 2:24-26
* b. They fulfill Satan’s goal for them - destruction
* c. Great peace - Psalm 119:165

III. In the Knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord
* A. True education is to fear the Lord - Proverbs 1:7, 9:10
* B. Jesus is Lord over Everything
* 1. The rebellion we now witness will be put down - Hebrews 1:13
* 2. We don’t make Jesus Lord, He is Lord
