One of the objectives of the unexpected inspection is to check the capabilities of the Fleet's units to transfer to the assigned degree of combat readiness and to assess readiness of on-duty forces to carry out the assigned missions.

The actions of the operational services in receiving and communicating combat control signals to formations and military units were assessed by officers of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, who supervise the unexpected inspection.

During the inspection, the Coastal Troops and Marines of the Pacific Fleet alerted their personnel, prepared their equipment for marching, and travelled to the areas where the units' combat training is to be tested.

Warships and support vessels have left their permanent bases and put to sea to carry out tasks as part of strike, ASW strike, and mine warfare groups, as well as landing ship detachments.
