Vatican will probe ‘mystical phenomena’ around world

A new Vatican observatory, established by the Pontifical Mariana International Academy (PAMI), is scheduled to investigate “mystical phenomena” worldwide, including instances of stigmata, sightings of ghosts, and “weeping” statues of the Virgin Mary.

The PAMI describes itself as a scientific organization of the Holy See and intends to identify and analyze roughly one hundred ongoing mystical events in Italy alone, the Daily Mail reported.

According to Vatican News, the observatory, which is awaiting authentication by the Church, will concentrate on examining and studying apparitions and mystical phenomena worldwide.
