When my eyes were opened to a new perspective, it completely changed my life. I learned an important lesson for my own family and also how to utilize it to help others through real estate.

As the credits rolled, I felt the message I had heard resonated strongly. I wasn’t making the best financial decisions. Seeing a Dave Ramsey TV special changed my approach about finances.

Before that moment, I approached life the way I thought I was supposed to live. I had cars and financed furniture within my home and other debts that I continued to make monthly payments on. I had had a financial epiphany.

I then remembered what my parents and grandparents had taught me, how to save. They were first and foremost hard workers. My grandfather and I spent many days together taking care of their cattle, and there was always something around home to be done. As children of the depression, they internalized many smart money habits that I did not recognize until looking back decades later.

I pushed myself to do more, expand my financial literacy and share what I had learned with others. Ever since my early 20s, I have been a fan of motivational learning. When I reconsidered my finances, that shift in perspective inspired me to continue my journey of improvement in a new way.

That dedication and passion for improvement is just one of the reasons I enjoy real estate so much. I have been a licensed REALTOR® since 1989 and appreciate that I have control over my own success with how much effort I put into my business.

Using the snowball method, I paid off all my debt (with only one mortgage remaining) and changed my approach to finances. My family and relationships matter most to me, my beautiful wife who supports me and I could not be prouder of the caring young man my son is. Through every challenge, my wife, son, mother-in-law, and I stuck together and figured out ways to continue moving forward.

I am always striving to do better, and in 2016 I pushed hard once again on that journey through joining BNI (Business Network International). I am not usually one for talking in groups, though I am a REALTOR®.

However, I went to that first meeting and ended up being a part of the organization for five years. Not only that, but I also went on to be president of our chapter for an entire year because I became so invested in our network.

Through it all, I realized we are all capable of much more than we ever realize. Only in pushing ourselves to our limits and continuing to learn will we ever discover what we truly can do. I enjoy sharing all I have learned over the years in real estate and goalsetting to help my clients reach new levels of success.

Whenever I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, golfing and reading. My favorite part of being a REALTOR® is leveraging all I have learned to help my clients achieve their dreams.
