M F Husain was India's highest-paid painter, and his paintings fetched millions of dollars at prestigious auctions like Christie's. However, just after a year of owning it, he passed away.
Honourable mention
J. R. D. Tata was not only a successful businessman but also a car enthusiast. He owned a stunning Bugatti 2000cc, which was the first of its kind in India. This car was a symbol of luxury, speed, and power, and it perfectly matched J. R. D. Tata's personality.
J. R. D. Tata's Bugatti was not just a car, but a legacy that he left behind. Despite the popularity of luxury cars like Maybach, Bentley, and Rolls Royce, no other Indian celebrity or businessman has owned a Bugatti since then. This fact is quite disheartening, considering the beauty and power of this iconic car.
