Protest against pension reform descends into chaos in Lyon

Fierce clashes erupted between protesters and police in Lyon as officers fired tear gas in an attempt to regain control over the chaotic situation. Reportedly up to 10,000 people marched in Lyon against French President Emmanuel Macron’s unpopular plan to raise the retirement age from 62 to 64 by 2030.
