The Story Of Lut (AS) And The People Of Sodom

Lut (AS) was a prophet of God who was sent to the people of Sodom and Gomorrah, who were known for their immoral behaviour and widespread homosexuality. Lut preached to them to abandon their sinful ways and turn towards God, but they refused to listen.

God then sent two angels to Lut to give him the warning that the cities would be destroyed for their sins. Lut pleaded with the people to repent, but they refused and even threatened to harm him.

As a result, God destroyed the cities with a powerful earthquake and rain of stones, sparing only Lut and his family. However, Lut's wife was punished for looking back at the destruction, and she turned into a pillar of salt.

The story of Lut is often used in Islam to emphasize the importance of following God's commandments and avoiding immoral behaviour.
