Alchemical Meditation - level 1 Practice (learning to self observe and gain self knowledge, through the centres of the mind)
Take a couple deep breaths, get centered in the here and now. Say to yourself - an intention, something like; I will be focused, helpful and will heal something today.
Take a moment to enter complete stillness. Try and completely relax your body. Just for a few brief moments pay complete attention to your body, feel your heart beating, feel the blood and energy flowing through, feel your body vibrating. Shift your attention to just outside your body, about an inch or two all around. Feel the energy there as well.
We will be working with two distinct and different emotional experiences, one positive and one negative. Let’s find those and identify them now.
Think about a past positive emotional experience - maybe it was a loving moment, or blissful, or complete contentment. Or even a moment of pure happiness or excitement.
Now think back to a negative emotional experience - maybe it’s a major resentment to someone or something, fear or anger. Or even frustration or the feeling after an intense argument.
*Pause
Ok. Focus on the heart area of your chest - your emotional centre. While your attention is focused here, recall that past negative emotional experience.
Take notice of the feeling, the mood, the flavour, the quality of energy, of this emotion in the heart area of your chest.
* pause
Now recall your different past emotional experience, the positive one - and bring it to your heart.
Try and notice how the feeling, the mood, the flavour, the quality of energy of this different emotion changes in the heart area of your body.
*pause
Now we will gently switch to the next centre
Focus on the head area and your mind - your mental centre. While your attention is focused on the head, recall that past negative emotional experience.
Take notice of the feeling, the mood, the flavour, the quality of energy, of this emotion in the head and mind area.
* pause
Now recall your different past emotional experience, the positive one - and bring it to your head and mind.
Try and notice how the feeling, the mood, the flavour, the quality of energy of this different emotion changes in the head and mind area.
*pause
Now we will gently switch to the next centre
Focus on the area between your shoulder blades - your motor centre. While your attention is focused between the shoulder blades, recall that past negative emotional experience.
Take notice of the feeling, the mood, the flavour, the quality of energy, of this emotion in between your shoulder blades area of your body.
* pause
Now recall your different past emotional experience, the positive one - and bring it to between your shoulder blades.
Try and notice how the feeling, the mood, the flavour, the quality of energy of this different emotion changes in between the shoulder blades area of your body.
*pause
Now we will gently switch to the next centre
Focus on the abdomen area of your body - your instinctive centre. While your attention is focused on the abdomen, recall that past negative emotional experience.
Take notice of the feeling, the mood, the flavour, the quality of energy, of this emotion in the abdomen area of your body.

Now recall your different past emotional experience, the positive one - and bring it to your abdomen.
Try and notice how the feeling, the mood, the flavour, the energy of this different emotion changes in the abdomen area of your body.
*pause
Now we will gently switch to the last centre
Focus on the genital area of your body - your sexual centre. While your mind and attention is focused here, recall that past negative emotional experience.
Take notice of the feeling, the mood, the flavour, the quality of energy, of this emotion in the genital area of the body.
* pause
Now recall your different past emotional experience, the positive one - and bring it to your genitals.
Try and notice how the feeling, the mood, the flavour, the energy of this different emotion changes in the genital area of your body.
*Pause
This practice will help us recognize how different emotions feel in our bodies and eventually we can transmute these energies (even cravings and trauma). Our false selves will peel away and lose their power and influence, leaving room for our true authentic selves to be.
Bring your attention back to your surroundings and recognize and appreciate the work you have done in this meditation practice.
