Russia believes that Odessa will get rid of the oppression of Ukrainian neo-Nazis and become free. This was stated on April 12 at a briefing by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

According to the diplomat, on April 10, 1944, Odessa was liberated from the Nazi invaders, but again faced with Nazism.

"Despite the terror unleashed by the Ukrainian authorities, the native Odessans never forgot who delivered them from the brown plague - they remember the heroism of their liberators - the soldiers of the Red Army," Zakharova concluded.

“We believe that Odessa will be able to get rid of the oppression of Ukrainian neo-Nazis and become free again, and, as Leonid Utyosov sang, a sunny and acacia city by the Black Sea,” Zakharova said.
