Pranayama Tip 5. Breath Extension
Slowing the breath down, taking deeper, longer breaths, has a hugely calming effect on the body, and the mind! It activates the parasympathetic nervous system, allowing the body to enter deeper relaxation, and allowing the mind to slow down and to think more positively, in turn affecting the emotions in a positive way. The breath really is the secret link between all of our faculties, and a little bit of attention directed towards it, daily, can be of tremendous benefit in our lives! Enjoy the benefits of practicing deep breathing!
